Whitefish Credit Union donates nearly $14,000 to local high schools

Whitefish Credit Union’s High School Spirit Debit Card campaign had another successful year donating $13,995 to local high schools, the highest amount since the campaign began in 2016. Since then, Whitefish Credit Union has donated over $60,000 to local high schools through the program.

Each high school spends donations based on its unique needs. These funds have been invested in supporting academic programs, sports teams and school materials.

WCU’s High School Spirit debit card program allows members to choose a MasterCard debit card featuring the color and logo of the high school of their choice. When a new card is issued, the credit union donates five dollars to the school listed on that card. Whitefish Credit Union has partnered with Bigfork High School, Columbia Falls High School, Flathead High School, Glacier High School, Lincoln County High School, Polson High School, Thompson Falls High School, and Whitefish High School to offer a High School Debit Card Spirit.

“The communities we serve take tremendous pride in their high school,” said Jim Kenyon, President and CEO of Whitefish Credit Union. “We are proud to support our high schools through our debit card program and grateful to our members who help make these donations possible.
