WCCF Gives Sets New Record for Giving Days | Local News
The Washington County Community Foundation’s recent annual day of giving, WCCF Gives, set a new donation record with more than $ 1.4 million paid in online checks and gifts by credit card. Donations will be increased by the foundation’s $ 100,000 bonus pool, which will result in a record $ 1.5 million to support 110 various charities in Washington County.

In addition to securing much-needed contributions for local charities, WCCF Gives creates enthusiasm and a sense of community.
Among those who reaped the rewards of the event was the Washington Area Humane Society. The agency achieved a significant increase in donations starting in 2013, when it raised approximately $ 8,000 from 71 donors. In 2021, he raised over $ 64,000 from over 300 donors.
âWe have incorporated WCCF Gives into our fundraising plan, and we are making donors aware of the bonus pool and the opportunities for their money to grow that day,â said Kelly Proudit, executive director of The Humane Society. “By using direct mail, email and social media, we can get the word out to our donors in a strategic way that we believe has grown our donors to over 300.”
Another charity that has recognized the opportunity offered by the Giving Day and has taken steps to capitalize on that opportunity is the National Duncan Glass Society, which has seen its results increase by more than 2,900% since it started. started participating in WCCF Gives in 2014.
