Swat families get interest-free loans

Swat Relief Initiative (SRI) distributed loans to 17 poor families under the Swat Small Business Support Program.

According to SRI Management, one family received 30,000 rupees, two families received 20,000, one received 40,000 rupees and two families received 25,000 rupees while 50,000 rupees were given to 11 families. Swat Relief Initiative Chairperson Zebunisa Jilani distributed checks to poor and needy families under the Small Business Support Scheme. Even before that, money was distributed to poor families to run small businesses.

Zebunisa Jilani, who belongs to the royal family of Swat, has given interest-free loans to deserving families so that they can start a business to support their families. On this occasion, she said, “Our ancestors spared no effort in the service of Swat and the people of Swat. I also have this desire and this mission to follow in their footsteps. I can serve the poor and needy in Swat. The people of Swat, she said, are very talented and they just need support. The purpose of the loan is to help them stand on their feet, she said.

Abdul Bashar, who is a tailor and a person with special needs, also received a check for 50,000 rupees. He told Minute Mirror that he was very happy to receive the interest-free amount from the SRI and that he could now run his business smoothly. “I only had one sewing machine before, but after the loan I can buy another, thanks to which my work is improving day by day,” he said.
