Each year, Sun East also recognizes local educators who consistently foster a stimulating learning environment for their students. The Best teacher under the sun The award recognizes the outstanding achievements of teachers who, through their innovative and enriching programs, inspire students to excel beyond the norm.
The application for the award is open to all educators who teach in schools that are part of the credit union’s charter membership program. School administrators, teachers, parents and students can nominate teachers. The Sun East Awards Committee selects one winning teacher in each category at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Recipients receive $500and their respective school also receives a $500 contribution.
