National City Hosts Kimball Celebration

The City of National City hosts its annual holiday celebration, “A Kimball Holiday,” from 2 pm to 9 pm on Saturdays at Kimball Park. Enjoy a live DJ and LED dance floor, lighted tree (6:30 p.m.), holiday movies, Santa Claus Village, Ferris wheel, art and crafts, foodtrucks, a snow hill and community shows. Food distributions defined for the area

Feeding San Diego is hosting a drive-through food distribution Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pechanga Arena, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego.
Each registered participant will receive approximately 50 pounds of dry food, fresh produce and a frozen meat protein. Register on Another distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on December 17 at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater, 2050 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista. Snow and more at Village Walk

The Village Walk outdoor mall in EastLake hosts holiday events, including free snowfall, accompanied by music and lights, at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through December 24 in the yard near from the Koi pond. Children receive free headbands and “magic” glasses to watch rainbow-colored snow fall. Visitors can also snap vacation photos from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday with life-size cutouts of Santa, Snowman, Elsa and Olaf throughout the mall. New this year is a giant photo frame by the children’s playground from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and December 12. A professional photographer will be available to take “perfect” photos using each family’s camera or cell phone. Holiday brunch, DIY classes offered

Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center is offering a Holiday Brunch Cooking Class at 11 a.m. on December 12. Find ideas for a holiday meal. Bring a family member or friend, enjoy a drink, prepare seasonal-inspired recipes and enjoy your meal al fresco. Register on A DIY family gift class is also offered at 1 p.m. on December 18. This annual family class will feature gardening and cooking crafts for DIY gifts to take away! It’s a great way to go out and get sly. Santa Claus keeps the hours of vacation

Parkway Plaza hosts hours with Santa from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Book at Photos with Santa Claus are also available (see the online schedule). Santa Paws pet photos start from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. November 29 through December 20. Red Ribbon Week Winners

The Police Athletic League’s STAR / PAL program recently announced the winners of its Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest, with Grades 3 through 5 participating in several San Diego elementary schools. The winners were Abigale Wellspeak, 5th grade, Miller Elementary; Ciel Rodriguez, 4th year, King Chavez Arts & Athletics Academy; and Patricia Martinez, 3rd year, King Chavez Arts & Athletics Academy. All participants received a certificate of attendance with a free 7-Eleven Slurpee certificate. The winners received a certificate of participation, a Slurpee certificate and a $ 25 gift card to Walmart sponsored by Volunteers In Probation Inc. (VIP Inc.)
