PASSING THROUGH – A massive flock of snow geese – with tens of thousands of birds – taking off from Muck Flats near the Montezuma Wildlife Preserve in Seneca Falls on Sunday afternoon. Each year, tens of thousands of large birds come to the wetland to rest, feed and wait for the northern lakes to thaw. Snow geese will spend spring and summer north of the treeline in Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Russia and winter in warm parts of North America.
