The House hosts a golf tournament

The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Charity Golf Tournament on October 22 at the Pala Mesa Resort. A portion of the proceeds and the putting contest will benefit Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center. Sponsorships start at $ 125 for members and include the option to set up a marketing booth on the course. Bring your own quartet or you can be added to one. There will be a prize for the best golfers; donations are always sought for the opportunity draw. The ticket includes lunch, golf balls, green fees and the draw. Tickets are available for the San Diego North Economic Development Council Excellence in North County Economic Development Awards luncheon. Operation Connect for the military

The North San Diego Business Chamber is hosting an Operation Connect virtual workshop from 8 am to 12:30 pm October 8th. Operation Connect is a program of the San Diego North Educational Foundation that gives back to veterans. The goal is to connect service members in transition with business leaders, owners and other community members who can help them. The program is free to Veterans and includes professional development training, connection with business leaders through free monthly Regional Connect networking events, and chamber member mentoring. Goodwill holds hiring Tuesdays

Goodwill San Diego hosts Hiring Tuesday events from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, where people can be interviewed in person at Goodwill County stores, including Encinitas, Rancho Bernardo, and Vista. Applicants should apply online at sdgoodwill.org before the event and bring a printed copy of the application to the interview. Goodwill uses revenues from the sale of donated goods in its retail stores, sales centers and online on shopgoodwill.com to fund skills training programs, employment services and community resources.

Credit Union Gets Honor for Campaign

The San Diego County Credit Union recently received a 2021 state-level Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award as part of the Credit Union National Association Awards for its 2020 Stuff the Bus campaign. The campaign, in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education, is collecting school supplies for homeless students in the county. The first place at the state level will advance the SDCCU to national competition later this year. The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award is presented to credit unions that demonstrate outstanding social responsibility projects within the community. Maxwell was one of the early pioneers of credit unions who worked as an organizer for the movement’s trade association and held many volunteer positions at the local and national levels. The Chamber celebrates its 125 years at the reception

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 125th anniversary with its “Meet the Town of Oceanside” reception from 5 pm to 7 pm Thursday. This annual event, held this year in the new conference room and outdoor patio of El Corazon Aquatic Center, 3302 Senior Center Drive, allows chamber members and guests to connect with locally elected officials, municipal staff, d ‘other businesses and community leaders. The celebration includes appetizers from the Oceanside Kitchen Collaborative, a birthday cake and a bar without a host. The cost is $ 55 for chamber members, $ 95 for non-members. Register now to participate in the Treat Trail

The Poway Chamber of Commerce brings together a list of local businesses that want to provide a fun and safe experience for the community. Participants will distribute treats (or similar) at their workplace from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31. Businesses do not need to be chamber members to participate. The Halloween Treat Trail list will be posted on the Poway Chamber of Commerce website (poway.com) and shared on social networks. The Valley Center Chamber of Commerce is hosting a “Color and Learn” coloring contest for kids. Registration forms are available at the chamber office, 27350 Valley Center Road, Suite E; also at the Valley Center Library, CJ Deli, A-1 Do It Best Hardware, Armstrong Feed & Supply, VC Sports & Apparel and other participating chamber members.
