Ex-Credit Union GC dismissal details at trial


By Pete Brush (December 6, 2021, 7:37 p.m. EST) – A federal judge on Monday barred lawyers for a state judge accused of obstructing a 2018 New York Municipal Credit Union investigation from asking the ‘former general counsel for the troubled lender details his own dismissal a year later.

Manhattan U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan has barred the team representing defendant Sylvia Ash, the Brooklyn Commercial Division presiding judge before her 2019 arrest and suspension, from asking the former lawyer MCU general Thomas Siciliano if he was fired that year for what the defense characterized as poor job performance and misconduct.
