Bank opens new branch inside Hazel Green High School

MADISON COUNTY, Alabama – Redstone Federal Credit Union on Tuesday opened a new location in Madison County inside Hazel Green High School.

The credit union opened its first branch of schools in Madison County. These credit unions will be managed by student cashiers who accept deposits, cash checks, handle cash withdrawals and make money transfers.

“It gives them practical and hands-on experience in finance, banking, the credit union sector. So they can make a decision by saying, “Hey, you know what, I like that. ”Said Madison County Schools Superintendent Allen Perkins.

Hardworking students will serve their classmates and staff under the supervision of a teacher-advisor.

“We even hired students after they graduated from these high schools and went to college, we hired them as full-time employees. Joseph Newberry, president and CEO of Redstone Federal Credit Union, told News 19. “So this gives them a huge opportunity for financial well-being.”

Redstone Federal Credit Union has opened 7 different branches in schools in northern Alabama.
