The Knight 4000
Where is it now?


One of the fun things about smaller movies is to wonder where the stars are now? But what about the car? Through research thanks to members from the Knight Rider Online Web Board, and other members in the community, we've been able to track down the most recent whereabouts of the Knight 4000.

Obviously, the Knight 4000 first made its appearance in Knight Rider 2000. Click here to see its creation and birth.


The next known appearance of the car came seven years later in the reunion movie CHiPs 99:

The Knight 4000 (known as the Z-2000 Concept Car in the movie) was almost the cornerstone of the movie as
Ponch and Jon work together to recover the car after it was stolen.


The Knight 4000 later appeared in the Black Scorpion episode "Armed and Dangerous." It was seen retrofitted with missiles and other firearms. A picture of the car and the characters exist on the internet somewhere, and I am working on finding it to place on the site. If you have this picture or know where it is, email me


After Black Scorpion, the Knight 4000 was repainted black and white and had lights added to the top to appear as a police car in the pilot of Power Rangers Time Force. Not too long after that, the car makes another appearance as the police car in the SciFi original TV series Scare Tactics, airing August 1, 2003.

As seen in Scare Tactics, the Knight 4000 is used as a test vehicle to scare the passenger as the crazy driver conducts speed and crash tests.
